Professing Christian, next time you go to church look around at the four walls and look up at the ceiling; does it resemble a basket or a Lamp-Stand? Now walk outside; do you see Light or Darkness in the world today?
Today, it is said to give where you are fed; does that make you feel pious for doing what the world also says is good, i.e., self? Is our commission to teach others to also think of themselves or to risk scorn to tell, to convict the Lost of sin through the power of the Holy Spirit – and to tell of Heaven and Hell, and of God’s Deliverer – the Gospel? If you’re born-again from above, how can you neglect – forget the weightier matter?
BEWARE not to strain at a Gnat and swallow a Camel.
Lamentations 2:14: “Your prophets have seen for you false and foolish visions; and they have not exposed your iniquity so as to restore you from captivity, but they have seen for you false and misleading oracles.” (NASB)
August 29, 2016: A Watchman cries out: The stench of war and of death is in the air.
September 1, 2016: Psalm 32:6: “Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to Thee in a time when Thou mayest be found; surely in a flood of great waters they shall not reach him.” Psalm 73:24: “With Thy counsel Thou wilt guide me, and afterward receive me to glory.” (NASB)
October 1, 2016: 2 Chronicles 7:14: “My people who are called by My name, i.e., Christians, humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (NASB)
We frequently hear this verse quoted, however, with little or no emphasis on the words, “and turn from their wicked ways.” If this will heal our land, what made it sick in the first place?
